Dr. Sarah Shiga is a Royal College specialty certified plastic surgeon with a practice focused on hand and wrist surgery, microvascular reconstruction, and general plastic surgery. She obtained her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph and then attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, graduating with her MD in 2010. She completed a 5 year residency in plastic surgery at the University of Manitoba and then pursued subspecialty training in hand and wrist surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, completing a one year ACGME accredited fellowship with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Shiga began practice at The Ottawa Hospital in 2016. She is the director of Undergraduate Education for the Division of Plastic Surgery. Her interests include patient education and decision making, wrist biomechanics, and information technology in surgery.
