Dr. Cormier is a board-certified cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon. Dr. Cormier joined The Ottawa Hospital with sub-specialized focus on cosmetic, microvascular and gender-affirming surgery.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Cormier earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario before returning to the University of Ottawa for residency in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery. He was selected for advanced fellowship training in San Francisco, California at the prestigious Buncke Clinic where he worked with world-renowned aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeons. With extensive training, Dr. Cormier provides sub-specialized care in gender-affirming surgery, aesthetic surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery.

As an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Cormier is passionate about research and education. He obtained his Master’s degree from Harvard University and remains at the forefront of research in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. His research interests include outcomes-based epidemiologic and database analysis of gender-affirming surgery, aesthetic surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery. Dr. Cormier has authored numerous scientific articles and is frequently invited to present at the national and international conferences.

Dr. Cormier leads the multi-disciplinary gender-affirming surgery program for adult patients at The Ottawa Hospital where he performs masculinizing and feminizing top, bottom, and facial surgery. His reconstructive practice also includes complex breast and oncologic microsurgical reconstruction, restoring form and function for his patients.
