Brachioplasty at the University of Ottawa
The aging process and weight fluctuations can compromise firm and svelte upper arms. An arm lift, or brachioplasty procedure can correct sagging skin and uneven contours. An assessment of the patient’s health and medical history will ascertain their candidacy for this surgery. A treatment plan will then be developed to meet aesthetic objectives. Surgical incisions are made under the inner arm to the armpit in order to minimize visible scarring. Once the underlying fat has been removed, tightened and lifted, excess skin is trimmed and redraped for a rejuvenated and pleasing outcome. Patients under the care of plastic surgeons at the University of Ottawa will be informed on what to expect pre-, during and post procedure to ensure their comfort, safety and optimal recovery.
